Godard tends to throw musical numbers into his films, even though none of them are really musicals. <i>A Woman is a Woman</i> comes closest, but it's really an anti-musical--the musical sections disrupt the narrative rather than further it.<br><br>And don't worry; I'm still not sure I get the film overall, and I've been reading about it like crazy (I'm sort of obsessed with it and writing a paper about it in a few weeks). If you haven't seen anything by Godard, don't start with this one.
