Jandy's Meanderings: Jandy’s Meanderings » Fall TV - Two Weeks In

Wasn't that opening episode of Ugly Betty brilliant? We were completely sucked in by the Santos thing, and surprised but happy that he'd survived. The final scene with Hilda crying on the bed was just a kick in the gut, realising it had all been in her head, that he really was gone. So upsetting. I think I shed a tear or two.

And Mark is as fab as ever, and now has Justin around to be his little swishy padawan. Bless.

Oh, absolutely. Easily the best premiere of the any show this season. I was like, wait, Santos can't be okay--but maybe he is, and I'd like for him to be alive, and by the time we found out that Hilda was imagining the whole thing, yeah. Kick in the gut is a good phrase for it. And suddenly we had the emotional fulfillment of seeing Hilda and Santos so happy, the grief fulfillment of seeing Hilda cope, all without sacrificing plausibility. (I mean, the implausible storylines are for the Meade family, not for Betty's family.)

    I just love Mark!

And at this point, we're almost sharing brains. Well, on the shows that we both watch, anyway.
  • Jandy · 2 years ago
Yeah, it'd be kind of hard to share brains if we don't both watch the show I guess. ;) Are you still watching Grey's, or did you break your obsession where I can't?
  • Rach · 2 years ago
Nope, still on Grey's. Oddly, it's Heroes that's pushing my patience. How'd that happen?

Love Ugly Betty, we totally agree on that one. Love Grey's Anatomy, with ya all the way. Really enjoy Private Practice, more so than you do. COULD EAT PUSHING DAISIES UP WITH A SPOON!!!! I am worried about sustainability too, but if the writers can continue to be creative, I think it has real potential. you know how I like surrealistic stuff. Dirty Sexy Money is totally my guilty pleasure. Heroes tries my patience. Love Bones. House ROCKS. And I don't know how you have time for more shows than that!

And who is your wireless carrier because we could totally text. I keep my marriage viable via text, texting I do well. ;o)

I liked last night's Private Practice. I think it'll grow on me, I really do, but Addison just isn't quite the same as she was on Grey's, or something--or else I like her better as the snarky supporting character than as the neurotic lead. I'm a little afraid she's going to turn into Meredith, and that's NOT a good thing. Hee, re: Pushing Daisies! That's a really good description--the bright candy color scheme makes it even more delectable, doesn't it? And this week, I really haven't had time for all the shows (including Pushing Daisies, which I'm putting off until I have the attention span to savor it). I'm running about five behind at the moment, but hopefully the weekend will help.

I have Cingular...I mean, AT&T.; Do you have my number? I'll e-mail it to you. Are you able to watch shows when they're on, or do you tape them and watch them later?

I have Verizon Wireless for obvious reasons. ;0) I wonder what text charges would look like for non-in-network texting. I will find out.
The shows I watch, I watch as they come (for the most part). Justin says I'm a tv junky, but my kids go to bed at 8, which is when primetime starts here. So I am tied to the house with him gone til midnight and I get to enjoy my shows for a little while.
