Sounds like Redeemer may be a promising church home for you. Hope your experience there and at school will rich and rewarding, and they'll be blessed by you as we have been.

Re: Jandy’s Meanderings » Church report

Dad - I know there's an RUF, because the pastor mentioned it. And exactly, there's so many different flavors to the PCA these days, I was very pleasantly surprised to find it so similar.

Jeff - The were around 200 people there today, I'd guess. At least, it seemed pretty similar in size to Providence. The pastor mentioned seeing students trickling back in, so I'm not sure whether they're up to full school-year numbers or not!

Re: Jandy’s Meanderings » Church report

Great news, Jandy. I had a hunch that Redeemer would be a lot like Providence. About how large is the church now? But that may be hard to gauge since the students aren't back yet. Having a sound church home is going to be a real anchor for you this year. The Lord bless your studies!

Re: Jandy’s Meanderings » Church report

Wow! This is good news. I really had no idea what to expect with the diversity (both in worship style and exegesis)that exists in the present PCA. The "no Sunday evening service" will give you a chance to probably do some of the campus Sunday evening stuff, maybe some of the parachurch groups (Campus Crusade, BYU (or whatever they call it..., etc.)
